Age Limit: Candidates aged between 17½ to 22 years are eligible. Candidates born between 1 July 2005 and 1 July 2009 (both dates inclusive) can apply for the Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment. You can use our Age Calculator tool to check your eligibility.

Examination Fee: Candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹250 per category. The payment can be made through Net Banking from any bank or using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Cards or UPI Payment.

Educational Qualification

Agniveer (General Duty): Candidates who have passed the Class 10th/Matric examination with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject are eligible. Indian Gorkhas require a simple Class 10th pass. Candidates with valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) or Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) Driving Licenses will be given preference for Driver requirements.

Agniveer (Technical): Candidates who have passed the 10+2/Intermediate examination in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject are eligible. Alternatively, candidates with 10+2 Science plus a one-year ITI course (NSQF level 4 or above), or 10th pass with 50% aggregate along with a two-year ITI or two/three-year Diploma in specified technical streams are also eligible.

Agniveer Clerk/Store Keeper Technical: Candidates who have passed the 10+2/Intermediate examination in any stream (Arts, Commerce, or Science) with 60% marks in aggregate and minimum 50% in each subject are eligible. Securing 50% in English and Mathematics/Accounts/Book Keeping in Class XII is mandatory.

Agniveer Tradesmen (10th Pass): Candidates who have passed the Class 10th examination with a minimum of 33% marks in each of the five basic subjects are eligible.

Agniveer Tradesmen (8th Pass): Candidates who have passed the Class 8th examination with a minimum of 33% marks in each of the five basic subjects are eligible.

Note: Candidates can apply for up to two Agniveer categories over and above Regular Entry categories based on their eligibility. Candidates who have appeared in Class 10th, Class 12th Board Exam, NIOS, or ITI course and are awaiting declaration of results are also eligible to apply.

Recruitment Process of Indian Army

The Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment will be conducted in two phases. Phase I consists of the Online Common Entrance Exam (CEE), which will be held at Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centers across India. The CEE will be conducted in 13 languages. Candidates must qualify in this exam to proceed to the next stage. Phase II is the Recruitment Rally, organized by Army Recruiting Offices (AROs) at designated Rally Venues, where shortlisted candidates will undergo physical fitness tests, medical examinations, and document verification.

Phase I (Online CEE)

Exam Name: Common Entrance Examination, 2026

Exam Mode: Online (Computer-Based Test)

Exam Date: 1 June to 15 June 2026 (Tentatively)

Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions

Negative Marking: 25% of marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Normalization: Marks scored by candidates in the Online CEE will be normalized to account for variation in difficulty levels across different sessions.

Typing Test: A typing test at 30 words per minute (desirable) will be conducted for Agniveer Clerk/Store Keeper Technical category.

Phase II (Recruitment Rally)

Candidates will be shortlisted based on the cut-off marks in the written exam, which will be determined proportionate to the available vacancies. The Roll Numbers of candidates who qualify on merit will be published on the Join Indian Army website. Shortlisted candidates will receive a second admit card for the remaining stages of the recruitment process.

After the physical fitness test, candidates will undergo Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Medical Examination, and Document Verification at the Rally site.

Documents Required at Rally Site

Candidates must carry the following documents (original along with two photocopies) at the Rally site: Admit Card (laser printed), 20 photographs with white background (not more than three months old), Education Certificates, Domicile/Nativity Certificate, Caste and Religion Certificate, School Character Certificate, Police Character Certificate (issued within the last six months), Unmarried Certificate (issued within the last six months), Relationship Certificate (for SOS/SOEX), NCC and Sports Certificates (if applicable), PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, and an Affidavit on ₹10 Non-Judicial Stamp Paper.
