Eligibility Criteria of Assam Police Recruitment
Nationality: Applicant must be a Citizen of India and Permanent Resident
of Assam. Selected Applicants will have to submit Proof of Residence after
publication of the Final Select List. However, Applicants belonging to SC, ST,
OBC/MOBC are exempted from submitting such Certificates.
Local Language Proficiency: Candidates must speak Assamese or any other State language
fluently.
Employment Exchange Registration: Candidates must register his/ her name with a local Employment Exchange in Assam.
Aeimit of Assam Police Recruitment
Age Limit: Post wise age limit as on 1st January 2026 is as mentioned
below.
§ Constable (UB & AB): The
age of the Applicant must be between 18-25 years as on 1 January 2026 (born not
before 1 January 2001 and not later than 1 January 2008).
§ Driver Constable, Constable (Dispatch
Rider/Messenger/Handymen) in APRO, Driver and Driver Operator in F&ES, and
Driver Constable in Forest Department: The age of the Applicant
must be 18-25 years as on 1 January 2026 (born not before 1 January 2001 and
not later than 1 January 2008).
§ Driver in Forest Department: The
age of the Applicant must be 18-40 years as on 1 January 2026 (born not before
1 January 1986 and not later than 1 January 2008).
§ Sub Inspector (UB) and Sub Inspector of Police
(Communication): The age of the Applicant must be 20-26 years as on 1 January
2026 (born not before 1 January 2000 and not later than 1 January 2006).
§ Station Officer and Squad Commander: Age
must be 20-24 years as on 1 January 2026 (born not before 1 January 2002 and
not later than 1 January 2006).
§ Assistant Jailor: The
age of the Applicant must be 21-40 years as on 1 January 2026 (born not before
1 January 1986 and not later than 1 January 2005).
§ Sub Inspector (AB) in Commando Battalions: The
age of the Applicant must be 20-24 years as on 1 January 2026 (born not before
1 January 2002 and not later than 1 January 2006).
§ Constable (AB) in Commando Battalions: The
age of the Applicant must be 18-21 years as on 1 January 2026 (born not before
1 January 2005 and not later than 1 January 2008).
§ Safai Karmachari: The
age of the Applicant must be 18-40 years as on 1 January 2026 (born not before
1 January 1986 and not later than 1 January 2008).
§ Jail Warder: The
age of the Applicant must be 18-40 years as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., Applicants
born not before 01-01-1986 and not later than 01-01-2008).
§ Sub-Officer: The age of the Applicant
must be 20-24 years as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., Applicants born not before 01-01-2002
and not later than 01-01-2006).
§ Constable (Grade-III), Bandman (Constable),
Bugler, Forester Grade-I, Game Watcher & Forest Guard: The
age of the Applicant must be 18-40 years as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., Applicants
born not before 01-01-1986 and not later than 01-01-2008).
§ AFPF Constable, Constable (WO/WT), Constable
(UB), Fireman & Emergency Rescuer & Boatman: The
age of the Applicant must be 18-25 years as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., Applicants
born not before 01-01-2001 and not later than 01-01-2008).
§ Grade IV in Assam Commando Battalions: The
age of the Applicant must be 18-25 years as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., Applicants
born not before 01-01-2001 and not later than 01-01-2008).
§ Grade IV in Assam Police, F & ES and DGCD
& CGHG: The age of the Applicant must be 18-40 years as on
01-01-2026 (i.e., Applicants born not before 01-01-1986 and not later than
01-01-2008)
Note: The age of the Applicants will be calculated on the basis
of the Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card/HSLC Passed Certificate issued by a
recognized Board/Council. No other document shall be accepted in lieu thereof
for this purpose.

Educational Qualification of Assam Police Recruitment
Station Officer & Squad Commander: B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from a recognized College/Institution affiliated to a recognized University.
Sub Inspector of Police Communication:
B.Sc. (Electronics Science/ IT/ Computer Science) (10+2+3 duration)
or
3-year Diploma from State Polytechnic in Electronics and Tele Communication, or Electronics or Information Technology, or Instrumentation or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent with 2 years work experience in the field of Electronics, Telecom, IT or allied environment.
or
3-year Diploma from State Polytechnic in Electronics and Tele Communication, or Electronics or Information Technology, or Instrumentation or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent and 2 years additional course/courses in Telecommunication /IT /Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or equivalent.
or
Master of Computer Application (MCA)
or
B.E./ B. Tec. in E & TC or Computer or Instrumentation or IT or equivalent qualification in same discipline.
Sub Inspector (AB): The Applicant must be a graduate in Arts /Science/Commerce or equivalent stream from a recognized College/Institution affiliated to a recognized University.
Driver Constable, Constable (Dispatch Rider/ Messenger/ Handymen), Driver, Driver Operator, Driver Constable:
# HSLC or equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board or Council.
# For the post of Driver Constable in Assam Police, Constable (Dispatch Rider), Constable
(Messenger) & Constable (Handymen) in APRO and Driver and Driver Constable in Forest Department, Applicant must possess valid driving license for LMV or MMV or HMV.
# For the post of Driver and Driver Operator in F & ES, Applicant must possess valid driving license for HMV.
Safai Karmachari: Minimum Class VI passed from a recognized School or Institution and maximum qualification will be HSSLC or Class XII passed from recognized Board or Council.
Fireman & Emergency Rescuer: H.S. (Science) passed from a recognized Board or Council.
Boatman:
a) Passed HSLC or equivalent examination under any Govt. recognized board.
b) Proficiency in swimming.
(i) Diploma in Pharmacy from a Govt. Medical College
(ii) Registration under Assam Pharmacy Counci
Nurse: Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) from a Govt. Medical College.
Minimum Class VIII passed from a recognized School or Institution and maximum qualification will be HSSLC or Class XII passed from recognized Board or Council.
AND
Minimum one year Certificate course from a recognized Industrial Training Institution/ Vocational Institute.
Multitasking & Maintenance Staff- II (Non- Technical):
Minimum Class VIII passed from a recognized School or Institution and maximum qualification will be HSSLC or Class XII passed from recognized Board or Council.

Selection Process of Assam Police Recruitment
In this section, we will explain about the
selection process of Assam Police Constable Recruitment. Candidates submitting
correct online applications in all respect will have to undergo the Physical
Standard Tests (PST) and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET). Any Candidate with
any physical deformity as may be detected by the Medical Officer present in the
Selection Committee, he/ she will be debarred from participating in the rest of
the tests.

Preliminary Verification of Documents
The Applicant reporting at the venue on the
date and time for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test
(PST) must bring all the original documents, uploaded during submission of
online Applications along with one set of self attested photocopies. No
document will be accepted after the completion of PET & PST. All documents
uploaded and submitted at the time of PST & PET must be issued on or before
the last date of submission of online Applications.
If
any Applicant fails to produce any original document or doesn’t furnish it at
the time of document verification during PET & PST, he/she will not be
given any chance of rescheduling the date for submission of any such document
in future and his/her status will be decided on the basis of the documents
submitted on the day of PET & PST only.

Medical Examination
After
qualifying in the PET, the Applicants will be examined by a Medical &
Health Officer as per the parameters enumerated in the Medical
Standards section.
Physical Standard Test
After qualifying in the medical tests, the
Candidates will have to appear in the PST (Physical Standard Test). It carries
no marks. PST consists of measurement of the height, weight & chest ( chest
measuring only male) of candidates using latest technology and after which
preliminary check-ups like knock knee, vision test, colour blindness test, flat
foot, varicose vein, physical deformities etc will also be done.
Written Test
After completion of the PET, the shortlisted Applicants will be called for the Written Test in order of merit at the rate of 5 (five) times the number of posts allotted in respect of each category based on the total marks scored in PET (for Constable-AB, PET marks will be converted into percentage).
Written
test will consist of 100 multiple choice type questions to be answered on an
OMR answer sheet. For each correct answer the Candidate will get half mark.
Questions will be of the level of class IX and X .Total marks for the Written
Test will be 50. There will be no negative marking. The question paper for
Written Exam will be in the following languages: Assamese/ Bodo/
Bengali/English.
